Clean Water + Great Bottles + Students on Mission = A Community Reached
Next month we will be taking a group of Junior High Students to Westport, Washington. We’ll be participating in service projects for the community and people in it during the day and running a sports camp for 5-10 year olds in the evenings. At the end of the week we will put on a BBQ for the community to try and help the Christians of Westport interact with and leverage our trip for the Gospel with those who are hurting and in need of Jesus.
Our hope is that this will be the beginning of many trips like this to come and a relationship formed with the town of Westport. The heart of a trip like this is to provide an affordable opportunity for students to engage the mission of what it means to live the Gospel, not just study it. By giving them a reachable destination and plan my prayer is that they will catch a vision for what God wants to do through Christians all around the world. Brandon Hall, our new Junior High Director and myself will be leading the trip with some awesome fellow leaders and students, it should be incredible.
One of the coolest parts of the trip is how we are fundraising for it. There are a lot of fundraisers and things that can be done, and most are really excellent but in our partnership with Miir we have found something that is really unique. Miir is a company dedicated to the One4One philosophy, for every water bottle someone buys they are also providing clean water to someone else for an entire year! Miir has a fundraising component of their website where groups can enable the mission of Miir and get $5 from each purchase for their trip as well! The incredible reality for us is that if we rally behind this we could fund this awesome opportunity for students and provide clean water to 200 people for an entire year.
Will you join us in reaching the community of Westport with the Gospel in our words and deeds? The impact will be incredible, both locally and around the world.
